Free. Early build. Works on desktop and on phones held sideways.

An autumn village with kawara-roofed houses, orange maple trees and a rice field.

Start with a dusty old house.

You arrive in a sleepy village and take over an akiya, an empty house nobody has lived in for years. Sweep the tatami, patch the roof, mend the kitchen and the old bath. Every job happens in 3D with your own hands, not in menus.

A tatami room covered in dust and cobwebs at night.
Day one: dust, cobwebs and a leaking roof.
The same kind of room, clean, with fresh green tatami and a low table.
A few days of work later.

Then make the village your own.

  • Grow vegetables in your kitchen garden. Crops grow in real time, even while the game is closed.
  • Cook, pickle and dry what you grow, and sell it at the farm stand and the Sunday morning market.
  • Make friends with the villagers, run small errands for them and give gifts.
  • Decorate your home and dress your character from the village shops.
  • Build a garden with a koi pond, a bonsai shelf and a rock garden.
  • Follow the seasons: harvest festival, moon viewing, first snow and New Year.
  • Learn a little Japanese as you play. Every Japanese word comes with its English meaning, and a notebook keeps the ones you find.
Raised garden beds full of cabbages and greens beside a wooden fence.
